Have Questions?
We’d love to hear from you! Whether you have a question about our services, need a quote, or want to book an appointment, our team is here to help.
Here are some commonly asked questions in the meantime!
Thermal Imaging Surveys
Thermal imaging is a technique that uses infrared cameras to detect heat patterns and temperatures in buildings and equipment, identifying areas of heat loss, moisture, or electrical faults.
A thermal survey can reveal heat loss through walls, roofs, windows and doors, missing or damaged insulation, hidden damp and moisture, water leaks, cold bridging, draughts and overheating electrical components. It shows problems that are invisible to the naked eye without any need to open up walls or floors.
By identifying areas where heat is escaping from your home or building, thermal imaging helps you target insulation improvements, reducing energy consumption and costs.
Yes, thermal imaging is a non-invasive and safe method for inspecting buildings and equipment. It does not use any harmful radiation.
For the clearest results we usually ask that the heating has been on for a few hours beforehand, so there is a good temperature difference between inside and outside. We will confirm anything else that is needed when we book your appointment.
For residential properties, an annual inspection is recommended. Commercial and industrial properties may require more frequent inspections, depending on usage and equipment.
The cost varies depending on the size and type of property. Contact us for a personalised quote.
Damp Proofing
Common signs include tide marks or staining on walls, peeling wallpaper or bubbling paint, a musty smell, black mould, rotting skirting boards or timber, salt deposits on brickwork, and plaster that feels cold or damp to the touch.
Rising damp comes up from the ground through walls where a damp-proof course is missing or has failed, and usually shows within a metre of floor level. Penetrating damp comes in through the building fabric, for example from faulty gutters, cracked render or a leaking roof. Condensation forms when warm, moist indoor air meets cold surfaces and is the most common cause of black mould. Each needs a different solution, which is why we diagnose before we treat.
We combine thermal imaging with moisture meters and a physical inspection to trace where the moisture is coming from, rather than just treating the visible symptoms. This means the repair is targeted at the actual cause.
It depends on the type of damp and the size of the affected area. Some treatments are completed in a day, while larger jobs involving replastering take longer. We will give you a clear timescale with your quote.
Not always. Where a damp-proof course has been injected, the existing plaster may have absorbed salts and need replacing. We will advise exactly what is needed for your property.
Moisture & Leak Detection
We use thermal imaging cameras and moisture detection equipment to trace the temperature and moisture patterns a leak leaves behind. This lets us pinpoint the source without unnecessary damage to floors, walls or ceilings.
Leaking pipes under floors or inside walls, underfloor heating leaks, roof and flat roof leaks, leaks around baths and showers, failed seals and flashing, and water ingress around windows and doors.
Yes. An unexplained rise in water usage is a common sign of a hidden leak. A detection survey can locate it before it causes serious damage to your property.
We explain exactly what we have found, where it is and what is causing it, and advise on the best way to have it repaired with the least disruption.
Mould Removal
Mould can affect indoor air quality and may aggravate allergies, asthma and other respiratory conditions, particularly for children, older people and anyone with a weakened immune system. It also damages plaster, paint and furnishings if left untreated, so it is best dealt with promptly.
Cleaning removes the visible growth but not the cause. Mould needs moisture to grow, so unless the underlying damp, condensation or ventilation problem is fixed it will return. Our approach treats the mould and identifies the source.
We assess the extent of the growth and the moisture source, treat the affected areas with professional-grade products, and remove contaminated material where necessary. We then advise on ventilation and other changes to stop it returning.
In most cases, yes. For larger jobs we may ask you to keep out of the rooms being treated until the work is finished and the area has been ventilated.
Yes. We carry out mould removal in homes, rental properties, offices and commercial premises across Belfast and Northern Ireland.
Replacement Doors & Windows
Draughts, condensation between panes, frames that are difficult to open or lock, cold spots around openings, visible gaps, water ingress and rising heating bills are all signs. A thermal imaging survey can show exactly how much heat is escaping.
Modern energy efficient windows and doors are far better insulated and sealed than older units, so they reduce heat loss and draughts. The saving depends on the condition of what is being replaced and the rest of your property, which we can assess for you.
We advise on replacement windows and external doors to suit your property, budget and style, with a focus on thermal performance and a secure, well-sealed fit. Contact us to discuss your options.
Yes. Whether you need a single front door or every window in the house, we can help.
Solar Panel Installation
Yes. Solar panels generate electricity from daylight rather than direct sunshine, so they produce power throughout the year, including on overcast days. Output is naturally higher in summer than in winter.
It depends on the size of the system, your roof orientation and how much electricity you use during the day. We size systems around your actual usage and explain the expected performance before you commit.
In most cases roof-mounted solar panels on a house are classed as permitted development in Northern Ireland and do not need planning permission, but there are exceptions for listed buildings, conservation areas and some flats. We will check this for your property.
Yes. A battery lets you store electricity generated during the day and use it in the evening, increasing the proportion of your own energy you use. We can advise whether it makes sense for your household.
Most pitched roofs facing south, east or west with little shading are suitable, and flat roofs can be fitted with mounting frames. We assess the roof’s condition, orientation and available space during the site survey.
Ozone Sanitisation
Ozone is a gas made of three oxygen atoms. Generated on site by specialist equipment, it spreads through a room and oxidises the molecules that cause odours, as well as bacteria, viruses and mould spores. Afterwards it breaks back down into ordinary oxygen, leaving no chemical residue.
Ozone should not be breathed in at treatment concentrations, so rooms are cleared of people, pets and plants while the treatment runs. Once it is finished, the area is ventilated and the ozone reverts to oxygen before anyone goes back in. Carried out properly, it is a safe, chemical-free way to sanitise a space.
Cigarette smoke, pet and urine odours, musty damp and mould smells, cooking odours, and smoke or soot smells after a fire. It is also used to freshen properties between tenants or before a sale.
It depends on the size of the space and the severity of the problem. Most treatments, including the ventilation period afterwards, are completed within a day. We will give you a timescale when we assess the property.
Ozone can neutralise musty odours and airborne mould spores, but it does not remove established mould growth or fix the damp that caused it. We combine ozone treatment with mould removal and damp proofing where needed.
